The Queensland Care Consortium (QCC) is a partnership between Jobs Queensland, QCOSS, Community Services Industry Alliance (CSIA), CheckUP Australia and The Services Union that supports industry-led solutions to develop Queensland’s largest and fastest growing workforce: the combined healthcare, social assistance and community services sector, and attract and retain its employees.
QCOSS participates actively in the QCC by providing feedback on its evolution, providing support for organisations to apply for QCC funding, and promoting the QCC and successful applicants across its marketing and communications channels.
Deliver capacity building activities that help community organisations attract and retain a diverse workforce

Supporting Diverse Workforces
From February to June 2024, QCOSS delivered Supporting Diverse Workforces - a project designed to increase the sector’s understanding of the importance of diversity in the workforce and provide practical information and resources to support the implementation of inclusive human resources practices. The program engaged 267 registrants from 159 organisations across Queensland.
Five online “Community of Practice” events explored the systemic issues impacting diversity in the community services sector as well as giving participants strategies and actions to address these issues.
A comprehensive online resource library including guides, templates, session recordings, learning modules and short explainer videos was also developed.
After attending one or more events, participants reported better employment outcomes and increased knowledge about the challenges faced by people experiencing disadvantage in the workforce. Participants also highly valued the online resource library.
